We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer with strong front-end experience. This role will be highly impactful across the stack and be a great opportunity to be innovative and collaborative with Product, Design, and other engineers on the team. This candidate will need to take into consideration user experience, performance, and accessibility, and to ensure that we are providing a cutting-edge community building experience for creators and users alike. The starting salary range for this role is $180,000 - $194,000 plus equity and is not location-based.
In this role, you'll be accountable for:
Work collaboratively with Product, Design, Engineering, as well as other stakeholders to ship key aspects of our product
Be an integral collaborator on our engineering and product roadmaps, often guiding on design and implementation conversations
Proactively pick up new high impact, complex and largely unscoped work, identifying solutions and tradeoffs, and working in an iterative manner in an asynchronous, distributed culture
Write, test, document, and maintain code that takes performance, security risks, monitoring, accessibility, and other industry best practices into account
Triage, debug, and fix bugs reported by users
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and post-incident reviews
What we would like you to bring to this role:
Strong expertise in both the FE and BE, specifically, in JavaScript including vanilla JavaScript and Preact (or React), and Ruby on Rails
Experience and passion for working across the stack (BE/FE) to address the problem at hand
Experience writing high-quality, maintainable, readable code, with a focus on performance and accessibility
Experience with a range of frontend testing tools, ideally including component-level, End to End, and accessibility testing
Experience working in an asynchronous, distributed team and embraces that collaboration is a super power
Experience focusing on the big picture while shipping iteratively towards that goal
Thrives in a start-up environment
Experience working proactively and as part of a collaborative team
Strong communication and critical thinking techniques and experience to interact with all levels in the organization
Interest or experience in open source software and/or the open source community
Experience building, or working with, a design system is a plus
